Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Odumeje, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry in Onitsha, has sparked widespread discussion with a bold prophecy about his mortality. During a recent church service, the controversial cleric declared that his time on earth is short and that his body will not be seen after his passing.
“I am the strongest spiritual man in the world, after the general ‘Emmanuel’ TB Joshua. We are not many, we are just two. One has done the job and has returned home, remaining the Lion Himself. The dead man. I don’t have much time to spend here. Nobody will see my corpse,” Odumeje stated, emphasizing that his purpose is not longevity but fulfilling a divine mandate. He described his mission as clearing doubts about Jesus Christ, asserting, “Our mission is one God and one power, and that man is Jesus Christ.”
Odumeje, a father of five, founded his ministry in 2010 at No. 14 Osumu Street, Odakpu, Onitsha, before relocating it to its current location at 88b Bida Road, Fegge. Known for his theatrical preaching and deliverance methods, he has garnered a significant following in Nigeria and beyond. His self-styled titles, including “Liquid Metal,” “The War,” and “Indaboski Bahose,” have become catchphrases among supporters and viral sensations online.
The Onitsha-based prophet’s dramatic style, often involving physical demonstrations during deliverance sessions, has made him a polarizing figure. While his supporters view him as a powerful spiritual leader, critics have questioned his methods, with some, like the late comedian Ada Jesus, accusing him of staging miracles. Despite controversies, including a 2022 partial demolition of his church by the Anambra State government for obstructing drainage channels, Odumeje remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s religious landscape.
