Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the 2023 governorship candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, has publicly stated that he has no plans to align with or support President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.
In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s “Sunday Politics,” Rhodes-Vivour dismissed any suggestion of supporting Tinubu as a “complete waste of time.” He emphasized that his political journey is dedicated to improving the lives of Lagosians and restoring the state to its former glory.
Rhodes-Vivour, a prominent figure in the state’s opposition, made it clear that he will not be part of any political structure that prevents him from utilizing the “commonwealth of Lagos for the people of the state.”
When asked directly if he could see himself aligning with Tinubu’s style of politics, the former governorship candidate replied, “No, I will rather go and focus on my business, my work, and my family.” He reiterated that any such alignment would be contrary to his core mission of ensuring a better future for Lagos residents.
