Nigerian singer Edwards has taken to social media to express heartfelt gratitude to his mother, crediting her discernment for steering him away from a potentially disastrous $320,000 deal years ago. In an emotional post, the artist recounted how his mother confiscated his international passport and warned him against signing an agreement that would have handed over his entire music catalogue to a group she deemed untrustworthy.

Edwards revealed that his mothers instincts proved prophetic. At the time, she had given him ?150,000 to start a recording studio, insisting that the modest sum held more value than the lucrative offer on the table. You said NO! And I quote you, The 150,000 naira I gave you to start that studio is bigger than that money, just give it time. They are not of God, he wrote, recalling her words. Though he initially questioned her logiclaughing off her decision to take his passport since travel wasnt required to finalize the dealhe ultimately heeded her advice.

Reflecting on the incident, Edwards admitted he was baffled by her claim that ?150,000 could outweigh $320,000. After you said that, I was thinking, How is 150,000 naira bigger than $320,000? But now I understand, he shared. The singer did not disclose the full outcome of rejecting the deal, but his gratitude suggests it preserved his creative independence and long-term success.

In his post, Edwards showered praise on his mother, calling her a wall of fire and a conduit of divine wisdom. Thank you for always telling me the mind of God about the things Im doing. None of your words fell to the ground because you truly hear from God, he wrote. He lauded her selfless love, guidance, and unwavering support, emphasizing that the social media space couldnt contain his appreciation. The tribute concluded with a touching note: Happy Mothers Day mum!!!

Edwards story resonates as a testament to maternal intuition and the power of trusting familial counsel over fleeting financial gain. As his career continues to unfold, this pivotal moment underscores the profound influence his mother has had on his journey in the music industry.
