South African singer Tyla has again claimed the Favorite Afrobeats Artist award at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Her win continues a remarkable streak on international awards stages, as she beat out a strong field of Nigerian artists, including Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake. Wizkid had won the inaugural award in this category in 2022.

The night, however, belonged to Billie Eilish, who swept all seven of her nominations. She took home the evening’s top honors, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT,†and Song of the Year for “Birds of a Feather.â€

In other notable wins:

Beyoncé earned her first-ever awards in the country music category, winning for Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album for “COWBOY CARTER.â€

Post Malone also received his first country music trophy, taking home Favorite Male Country Artist.

First-time nominee Gracie Abrams was named New Artist of the Year.

Eminem won his first AMAs in 15 years, securing victories for Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).â€

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ collaboration “Die With a Smile†won for Favorite Music Video and Collaboration of the Year.

Doechii won her first American Music Award for Social Song of the Year for her viral hit, “Anxiety.â€

The 2025 American Music Awards featured a range of presenters, including Alix Earle, Ciara, Dan + Shay, and Kai Cenat, among others. The complete list of winners showcased a diverse mix of genres and artists recognized by fan votes.
