The winners of the 2024 Tech for Good Awards have been announced. Honouring ten
individuals and initiatives making significant contributions to social development through
technology across the African continent.

Now in its third year, the Tech for Good Awards continue to celebrate innovation, resilience, and
community service within Africa’s rapidly growing tech ecosystem. This year’s winners represent
a diverse range of sectors—from education and health to digital inclusion, gender
empowerment, and grassroots mentorship.

One of the standout honourees was Women In Product a fast-growing pan-African product
community founded by Etorobong Obot, which received the Social Impact Award in the
Community Category. The network has become a vital platform for product managers and
marketers—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—offering access to
mentorship, peer learning, and practical development opportunities.

“Product Hive represents the kind of intentional, community-led innovation we need
more of,” said Felix Odumeje, Executive Director of Tech for Good Nigeria.

The awards are the result of a rigorous, multi-stage nomination and screening process involving
leading technology experts from within and outside Nigeria. The goal is to spotlight
professionals and organisations making measurable, tech-driven impact in their communities.

The 2024 Tech for Good Award Winners include

Social Impact (Startup): Adeola Edema
Recognised for ReadUp Africa, an AI-powered literacy solution improving reading outcomes in
low-income schools, Social Impact (Mentorship): Olalekan Adeeko, celebrated for training over 10,000
teachers in digital skills through his “Tech in Yoruba” initiative, Social Impact (Community): Product
Hive – Founded by Oghenetega Apollos, honoured for building a pan-African product community
advancing tech leadership through mentorship and education, Young Tech
Changemaker: Chukwuemeka Nwosu (LitFam) For co-founding an educational app helping families in
underserved areas access learning materials and peer support.

Other notable winners are:
Tech for Social Good Impact: Cera Care, a healthtech company using AI to provide elderly
care support services, Digital Inclusion Advocate: Techrity Kickstart Program; awarded for
providing digital tools, laptops, and connectivity to students across Africa, Volunteer of the
Year: Amarachi Stanley Duru
A mentor and program leader with Hack for Good, which has reached over 1,000 young
coders. Tech for Gender Equality: NextGen Cyber Girls (led by Amina Yusuf)
For training and placing young women in cybersecurity roles across Africa. Executive of the
Year: Felix Owanate Amarachee Recognised for his leadership in scaling Techrity’s impact
across the region and Team Lead of the Year: Karla Nwaeke for leading the AI for Good
initiative and mentoring dozens of emerging AI developers.

The awards ceremony, held in Lagos, brought together tech leaders, educators, nonprofit
founders, and government representatives to honour the winners’ contributions to building a
more inclusive and impactful technology landscape in Africa.
“These stories remind us that the future of tech in Africa is not just about innovation—it’s about people, purpose, and progress,” said Amarachee (winner of
the Executive of the Year Award)
