President Tinubu Departs Nigeria for Two-Week Working Visit to Paris

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departed Nigeria on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, for a two-week working visit to Paris, France. The announcement was made by the Presidents Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement titled President Tinubu to embark on working visit to Paris.

According to the statement, President Tinubus trip is aimed at evaluating the mid-term performance of his administration, reviewing key achievements, and strategizing for the future. The visit comes ahead of the second anniversary of his administration, with the President set to assess ongoing reforms and plan further steps to accelerate Nigerias national development priorities.

The Presidents convoy was seen leaving his official residence in Abuja around 11:00 am local time, as reported by The PUNCH. While in Paris, Tinubu is expected to remain actively engaged with his team, maintaining close oversight of governance activities back home.

This period of reflection will inform plans to deepen ongoing reforms and accelerate national development priorities in the coming year, the Presidency stated. It highlighted recent economic progress as evidence of the administrations commitment, citing a Central Bank of Nigeria report that showed a significant increase in net foreign exchange reserves. The reserves rose to $23.11 billion, a sharp climb from $3.99 billion in 2023, reflecting the impact of fiscal reforms initiated under Tinubus leadership.

President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria in approximately two weeks, concluding his visit by mid-April. The trip underscores his administrations focus on sustaining momentum in economic and developmental reforms as Nigeria navigates its path forward.
