One of the individuals declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their alleged involvement in the Crypto Based Exchange (CBEX) scam, Adefowora Abiodun, has voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. Abiodun, in the company of his legal representatives, presented himself at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja at 4 pm on Monday.

Abiodun’s surrender follows the issuance of an arrest warrant by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday. Upon surrendering, Abiodun reportedly expressed his readiness to cooperate fully with the EFCC during the course of their investigations.

However, the EFCC is still seeking the other five individuals also declared wanted in connection to the case. They are Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, Seyi Oloyede, Avwerosuo Otorudo, and Chukwuebuka Ehirim.

The EFCC alleges that the six suspects promoted a complex crypto exchange scam and fraudulent investment scheme. This scheme recently collapsed, leading to substantial financial losses exceeding $1 billion for numerous Nigerians.
