West Ham United’s Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus could be on the move to North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the current June 2025 transfer window, according to recent reports.

Tottenham have reportedly identified the dynamic midfielder as a high-priority target as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming 2025/2026 season. Initial discussions are understood to have taken place between Spurs and Kudus’ representatives, signalling the early stages of what could become a significant transfer.

Kudus, who joined West Ham in 2023, has impressed with his versatility across midfield and attack. Despite a somewhat underwhelming second season where he registered 5 goals and 4 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions, his strong debut campaign saw him bag 18 goals and 10 assists in 48 games, maintaining a high reputation. He is reportedly open to holding talks with Tottenham.

While Tottenham are currently leading the race for his signature, several other clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation, indicating a competitive market for the 24-year-old.

Crucially, Kudus’ contract with West Ham, which runs until June 30, 2028, includes a release clause of £85 million that is active only for the first 10 days of July. Tottenham is optimistic they can secure his services for a fee well below this figure, especially as West Ham is reportedly willing to sell to generate funds for their own squad rebuild under new coach Graham Potter.

The potential move would mark a rare direct transfer between the two London rivals, with Scott Parker being the last player to make such a switch back in 2011. New Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank is looking to bolster his attacking options, particularly with captain Son Heung-min potentially on the way out, and sees Kudus as a fitting addition due to his pace, dribbling, creativity, and ability to play across various attacking roles. Kudus also brings Champions League experience from his time with Ajax.

As talks progress, the situation remains fluid, with further developments anticipated in the coming weeks of the transfer window.
