Former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has thrown his support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term, praising him as a leader who is restoring stability and hope to Nigeria. Okowa made the statement during a national summit in Abuja organized by the Integrity Group of Nigeria (IGN), themed “Renewed Hope Agenda Through Continuity.”
Represented at the event by his former Special Adviser, Pascal Adigwe, Okowa described President Tinubu as an “action president” who accepts responsibility for the country’s challenges rather than blaming past administrations.
“Tinubu’s decisions might be tough or rough, but they are yielding positive results. Tinubu is bringing stability, he’s bringing back hope, he’s taking the bull by the horn,” Okowa said, pledging his full support for the president’s 2027 re-election campaign. “We have come… with our experience, with our knowledge of the terrain, with love, and with resources to better the lot.”
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Vice Presidential candidate urged pro-Tinubu groups to intensify their mobilization efforts, stating that the president “deserves another term.”
The IGN Convener and National Chairman, Dr. Oke Idawene, also spoke at the summit, commending Tinubu for coming into office with a clear plan. He highlighted improvements in student loans and security as evidence of the administration’s progress and declared that progressive governors were already laying the groundwork for a 2027 victory.
Other speakers, including Senator Binta Garba and former Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Tallen, echoed these sentiments, calling for continuity of the “Renewed Hope” agenda and urging Nigerians to support the president.
