The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has officially appointed CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). The announcement, confirmed by the outgoing FPRO, DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, marks a significant change in the leadership of the police force’s communications arm.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master of Science in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. His professional affiliations include being an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

A veteran communicator, Hundeyin’s career includes several key assignments. He previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, where he was a prominent and highly visible figure. Prior to that, he held the position of Police Public Relations Officer at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos and was a part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. He also served as the Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

In his new position, IGP Egbetokun has tasked CSP Hundeyin with leveraging his extensive experience in communications and security to strengthen the police force’s public relations activities and foster a more positive relationship with the public.
