Arsenal continued their strong start to the Premier League season with a dominant 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium. The win marks the Gunners’ third consecutive Premier League victory at home, a feat they haven’t achieved since August 2024.

The match served as the opening assignment for Forest’s new head coach, Ange Postecoglou, who took over from Nuno Espirito Santo during the international break. His side, struggling with just three wins in their last 11 league games, appeared to be adjusting to the new coach’s philosophy, and it showed on the pitch. Arsenal controlled possession for most of the first half, though clear-cut opportunities were limited.

The breakthrough came just before halftime with a moment of brilliance. Martin Zubimendi scored his first goal for the club with a stunning volley from outside the box, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead.

The Gunners wasted no time in the second half, doubling their lead within the first minute. Summer signing Viktor Gyokeres proved his worth, sweeping home a cross from Eberechi Eze to make it 2-0.

Despite a brief scare when a deflected cross from Dan Ndoye hit the Arsenal crossbar, the home side maintained control. Gyokeres nearly scored a second, but his shot from a tight angle also hit the woodwork. As the game wore on, Forest seemed to lose belief, unable to mount any serious pressure despite substitutions.

Arsenal sealed the win with a late header from Zubimendi, adding an extra layer of triumph to their perfect response to a previous 1-0 defeat against Liverpool. The victory extends Arsenal’s impressive start to three wins from four matches this term. For Nottingham Forest, however, it’s a second consecutive 3-0 loss, leaving Postecoglou with significant work to do to prevent a downturn.
