Newcastle United has reportedly agreed a fee of £55 million to sign Brentford striker Yoane Wissa. The 28-year-old DR Congo international has been the primary target for Newcastle following the impending departure of their star forward, Alexander Isak, to Liverpool in a British record transfer deal. Wissa, who has not featured for Brentford this season, made his desire to move public last week in a social media statement.

He scored 45 goals in 137 Premier League appearances for the Bees since joining from French club Lorient. With his arrival, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe’s side is expected to get a significant boost in attack, especially after two consecutive goalless draws in their first three games of the season. Wissa is expected to undergo a medical on Monday to finalize the move to St. James’ Park.
