Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is facing a potential three-week absence due to an ankle injury, as per Norway’s team doctor, Ola Sand.
Although Martin Odegaard’s left ankle likely does not have a fracture, his recovery is estimated to take at least three weeks, possibly longer, the doctor confirmed earlier today, September 11.

“Such ankle injuries often take at least three weeks. Anything other than that is just a bonus and then it can take longer”, Sand told Norwegian newspaper VG.

“What we have so far obtained from the MRI examination in London is that there is probably no fracture in the ankle.

“Arsenal are almost certain there is no breach, but this may still take some time. In the event of a fracture, we are talking about being out of action for six weeks plus.”

The 25-year-old sustained the injury while playing for Norway in a UEFA Nations League match against Austria on Monday, September 9.

Upon returning to London, he underwent an MRI scan with updates expected during manager Mikel Arteta’s news conference on Friday.

Should Odegaard be sidelined for three weeks, he would miss several crucial matches for Arsenal, including the Champions League game against Atalanta and the Premier League fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, September 15, and against Manchester City.
