Tanzanian music stars Harmonize and Abigail Chams have officially released the music video for their latest ballad, “Lala.” The song, a heartfelt blend of Bongo Fleva and soft Afro-pop, was produced by Cukie Dady and focuses on themes of intimacy and vulnerable, timeless love.

In “Lala,” Harmonize shares a deeply personal narrative of falling in love. His lyrics, “You smell like honey, you’re the only one,” convey a sense of profound admiration and joy he describes as new and all-consuming.

Abigail Chams’s vocals provide a striking counterpart, revealing the internal struggle of resisting love before finally giving in. Her confession, “Why ghafla nakuita honey hivi mapenzi kitu gani, I don’t know why,” which translates to “Why am I suddenly calling you honey, what is this thing called love, I don’t know why,” adds a layer of honest, youthful vulnerability that makes the song even more relatable for listeners.

The song’s core message is captured in its comforting chorus, “Kifuani lalaa usinzie,” which means “Lay on my chest, fall asleep.” This line acts as a powerful invitation into a safe and loving space.

The official music video for “Lala,” directed by Joma, is a visually rich production that effectively captures the song’s emotional essence and message. The release follows Harmonize’s recent tracks, including “Coming Home” and “Best Couple,” which features Rudeboy.
