Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that its streaming platform, currently known as Max, will revert to its former name, HBO Max, starting in summer 2025.

The decision aims to leverage the strong recognition and prestige associated with the HBO brand. Initially rebranded as Max following the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger in 2022, the service sought to blend Discovery’s lifestyle content with HBO and Warner Bros. offerings.

However, a decline in viewer engagement with Discovery’s programming has prompted the return to the HBO Max identity, emphasizing a focus on high-quality, adult-centric content.
