Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured citizens that insecurity across the country will soon be defeated, attributing ongoing improvements in national security and economic stability to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration reforms.
Speaking on national development initiatives, Akpabio highlighted the strength of Nigeria’s financial services, stating that the era of unexpected bank collapses and loss of depositor funds is over. He credited ongoing bank recapitalisation efforts with building one of Africa’s safest and most technologically advanced banking systems.
“Today, thanks to the bold vision and strategic foresight of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, our banking sector has transitioned from survival to absolute dominance.”
Addressing security challenges, the Senate President described criminality as a direct obstacle to economic progress, noting that sustainable foreign investment and local business operations depend heavily on safety and order.
Akpabio emphasized that Nigeria’s security forces have shifted from defensive tactics to taking proactive action directly against insurgents, bandits, and criminal networks.
“The security forces are taking the fight directly to the enclaves of criminals, bandits, and insurgents. The strategy has shifted from reaction to proactive confrontation, and I assure Nigerians that insecurity will be defeated.”
He urged citizens to actively support security personnel on the frontlines by sharing timely, actionable intelligence, stressing that military hardware alone cannot eradicate crime without community cooperation.
