Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles III and Queen Camilla will embark on a visit to Canada from May 26th to 27th. This trip is being described as a clear demonstration of the monarch’s support for the former British colony, of which he remains the head of state.

The announcement comes at a time when the King has recently reaffirmed his role as the King of Canada. Notably, this visit also occurs amidst past expressions of interest in Canada from former United States President Donald Trump.

This Canadian journey marks King Charles III’s second overseas trip of the year. Prior to this, he traveled to Italy, where he held a private meeting with Pope Francis before the pontiff’s passing.
