Lorenzo Palmisani Masterclass Helps Frosinone End Como Unbeaten Run with 2-0 Victory

Frosinone secured consecutive Serie A home victories for the first time since 2023 after defeating high-flying Como 2-0 at Stadio Benito Stirpe, bringing an end to the visitors’ unbeaten start to the season.
The visitors were left regretting missed opportunities early in the opening minutes after failing to capitalize on three clear chances within ten seconds. Anastasios Douvikas saw his header saved at close range by Lorenzo Palmisani before Martin Baturina’s effort was blocked on the goal line. Palmisani then reacted swiftly to push Lucas Da Cunha’s deflected strike onto the post. Fofana’s defensive setup capitalized on those misses in the 14th minute when Romano Schmid set up Giacomo Calò, whose first-time effort deflected off Luis Milla and into the back of the net.
Frosinone doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time following a swift counter-attack. Schmid released Giorgi Kvernadze, who evaded Anthony Oyono inside the area before firing past Jean Butez to make it 2-0 before the interval.
Palmisani continued to frustrate Como after the restart, denying Nico Paz and second-half substitute Moise Kean on multiple occasions. The home side remained dangerous on the break, with Antonio Raimondo curling an effort narrowly wide. Palmisani then produced another diving save to tip Jesús Rodríguez’s late attempt wide.
The victory preserves Frosinone’s clean sheet and elevates Massimiliano Alvini’s side up to fifth place in the Serie A standings, while Cesc Fàbregas’ Como suffer their first league defeat of the campaign.
