Manchester City has completed the signing of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported fee of roughly £30 million, plus an additional £3.5 million in add-ons. The move comes as the Italian international replaces the outgoing Ederson, who joined Fenerbahce.

Donnarumma, at just 26 years old, is a seasoned professional. He arrives at City having already won four Ligue 1 titles and been named Goalkeeper of the Season three times.

In a statement on City’s official website, Donnarumma shared his excitement. “To have signed for Manchester City is such a special and proud moment for me,” he said. “I am joining a squad packed with world-class talent and a team led by one of the greatest managers in the history of football in Pep Guardiola. This is a club every player in world football would love to join.”

He concluded by promising to give his all to help the club achieve even more success. City’s Director of Football, Hugo Viana, expressed his delight with the signing, stating, “Gianluigi’s pedigree, quality and record speak for themselves, and we are all absolutely thrilled he has joined us here at City.” Viana added that Donnarumma would bring further quality and depth to the team’s goalkeeping department.

Donnarumma will compete with James Trafford for the number one spot at Manchester City.
