Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has made serious allegations against former President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that Buhari did not pay his daughter’s salary during her four-year tenure working in the office of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Galadima, speaking on AIT’s Jigsaw program, revealed that his daughter, after completing her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and facing unemployment, contacted former President Buhari directly. He explained that his daughters, while searching for job opportunities, discovered Buhari’s contact in his phone and decided to call him.

“They said, ‘Baba country hard oo! Our father cannot get any job for us oo! And he told us that you’re his friend,'” Galadima recounted. He said that Buhari confirmed their friendship, and his daughter then explained her difficulty in securing a job with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

Galadima stated that Buhari then instructed the Director-General of NUPRC, Komolafe, to offer his daughter a job. He also mentioned that his daughter wanted to go to Mecca to express gratitude to God and the former president for this opportunity.

However, Galadima then made a startling accusation regarding his daughter’s time working for Buhari. “My daughter worked for him for four years and he instructed that she should not be paid salary. Let them bring any voucher where she was paid. She worked for Buhari for four years in Osinbajo’s office without payment,” he asserted.

When questioned about the reason for the alleged non-payment, Galadima advised the interviewer to direct the inquiry to former President Buhari himself. He also mentioned that he had worked for Buhari for 13 years.

Galadima emphasized that despite this situation, he and Buhari remain friends. “We are friends and will continue to be friends, if I want anything from him, I will ask,” he said.

These allegations raise serious questions about the former president’s conduct and are likely to spark significant public discussion.
