To mark the season of love, singer-songwriter and producer Patreal Agba has released his latest musical offering, “Darling.” Produced, mixed, and mastered by Dopatunes, the track arrives as a melodic tribute to romance, blending Patreal’s diverse musical influences into a heartfelt Valentine’s Day celebration.

Born Patrick Agba in Calabar, the artist’s sound is deeply rooted in the cultural landscape of Cross River State. Growing up influenced by the vibrant Efik highlife movement and legends such as Peter Effiom and Inyang Nta Henshaw, Patreal developed a keen ear for melody and rhythm from an early age. His musical foundation was further solidified through his work with the church-based a cappella group “The Minstrels” and the secondary school collective “The Brothers,” experiences that sharpened his vocal harmony and arrangement skills.

Though a graduate of Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cross River State (UniCross), Patreal’s commitment to the arts has remained a central pillar of his life. Beyond his technical profession, he is a gifted painter and illustrator, and the founder of the production outfit “The Real Geez.” This multidisciplinary background informs his music, allowing him to approach songwriting with both structural precision and artistic fluidity.

“Darling” serves as a testament to this creative duality. The song moves with a gentle, inviting energy, capturing the essence of devotion and the quiet joy of partnership. By leaning into his highlife roots while embracing a contemporary feel, Patreal creates a soundscape that is both nostalgic and modern, making it a fitting soundtrack for lovers during the Valentine’s season.

With this latest release, Patreal Agba continues to bridge his heritage with his personal evolution, offering a song that is as sincere as it is polished. “Darling” is a celebration of commitment, crafted by an artist who understands the importance of building something that lasts.

“Darling” is now available for streaming on all major digital music platforms.
