Wolverhampton Wanderers delivered a decisive 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Molineux, extending their unbeaten head-to-head run and placing further pressure on Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou. The win significantly boosted Wolves’ Premier League safety hopes.

Tottenham’s slow start proved disastrous. Wolves capitalized early, with Rayan Ait-Nouri’s fortunate volley finding the net after a poor punch from Guglielmo Vicario. Tottenham’s defensive disarray continued, with Jorgen Strand Larsen narrowly missing a chance to double Wolves’ lead.

Despite Tottenham’s attempts to recover, they struggled to create clear opportunities. Yves Bissouma tested Jose Sa, but the visitors’ wastefulness was punished. A deflected cross led to Djed Spence inadvertently guiding the ball into his own net, doubling Wolves’ advantage.

Tottenham managed to pull a goal back through Mathys Tel, who finished from Brennan Johnson’s cross. However, their hopes were short-lived as Ait-Nouri capitalized on Cristian Romero’s error to set up Strand Larsen for Wolves’ third goal.

Wolves welcomed back Matheus Cunha, who nearly marked his return with a goal. Richarlison’s late goal for Tottenham provided a brief moment of tension, but Cunha quickly restored Wolves’ two-goal lead, securing the victory.

The win marked Wolves’ first consecutive home wins of the season, significantly aiding their survival bid. Conversely, Tottenham’s defensive frailties and Postecoglou’s tactical approach came under scrutiny, as they continue to struggle for consistency. The match highlighted Wolves’ clinical finishing and Tottenham’s defensive vulnerabilities.
