In a thrilling five-goal encounter, a 96th-minute header from substitute Takumi Minamino secured a sensational 3-2 victory for Monaco over Strasbourg. The dramatic last-gasp winner extends ASM’s remarkable unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches, a streak that now includes nine wins and a draw.

Monaco started the match with blistering pace, breaking the deadlock in just the sixth minute. A high-press from Folarin Balogun caught Strasbourg goalkeeper Mike Penders off guard, allowing Maghnes Akliouche to pounce on the loose ball and tap it into an empty net for the early lead. The hosts continued to dominate, with Balogun eventually getting his own goal three minutes into the second half, clinically finishing a defense-splitting pass from Lamine Camara to make it 2-0.

Despite the two-goal deficit, Strasbourg showed remarkable resilience. Substitute Dilane Bakwa ignited the comeback with a brilliant half-volley in the 78th minute. Just three minutes later, Strasbourg were level when Caio Henrique’s foul in the penalty area allowed Joaquin Panichelli to convert a powerful spot-kick, setting up an intriguing and tense finale.

With the clock ticking down, it was Monaco who found the final breakthrough. In the dying seconds of stoppage time, Akliouche delivered a precise cross to the back post, where Minamino was perfectly positioned to head home and claim all three points for the hosts.

The late drama was a bitter pill for Strasbourg, who also saw Rabby Nzingoula sent off for denying a clear scoring opportunity. Despite the defeat, both teams can take confidence from their start to the campaign, as they both hold identical records of two wins and one loss from their opening three matches.
