All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Aliyu Farouk has disclosed that the ruling party is displeased with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over recent remarks describing APC state governors as lazy.

Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Thursday, Farouk expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu is equally unhappy with the minister’s assertions regarding the party’s leadership structure.

Farouk clarified that while the APC cannot restrict Wike from voicing his personal opinions, the party’s leadership strongly resents his disparaging remarks about sitting governors. He emphasized that the APC is actively establishing a unified campaign structure across national and state levels, with governors designated to lead political and campaign activities in their respective states.

“We do not want any situation where it becomes vote for APC, vote for PDP, or vote for any other party,” Farouk stated during the broadcast. “As far as we are concerned, we want a unified APC campaign structure, which is exactly what we are setting up at the national level and across the states as well, and the governors are going to be in charge of the states.”

He continued: “You know, so we cannot stop Wike from speaking the way he does or saying whatever he wants. But as a party, we resent that kind of comment. We are not happy with the way he called our governors, and I’m sure Mr President will not be happy either.”

Addressing Wike’s claims of holding private arrangements with President Tinubu regarding political activities leading up to the 2027 general elections, Farouk noted that party members remain unaware of any such discussions. He advised APC stakeholders and members to refrain from joining issues or engaging in public spats with the minister over the matter.
