After eight successful years at Manchester City, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has completed a permanent transfer to Turkish club Fenerbahce. The move, announced by both clubs on Tuesday, marks the end of a trophy-laden era for the 32-year-old at the Premier League side.

Ederson’s move is valued at around £12 million ($16.2 million), with the goalkeeper set to earn an annual salary of €11 million. The transfer comes as Manchester City is expected to bring in Italian international Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain as his replacement.

During his time at City, Ederson lifted 18 trophies, including six Premier League titles and one Champions League crown. He also won the Premier League Golden Glove award three times for keeping the most clean sheets in a season.

In a statement, Manchester City said, “Ederson has completed a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce, subject to international clearance. We wish you the very best, Eddie.â€

Ederson reflected on his time at the club, stating, “I leave Manchester City incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I am honored to have worn the shirt so many times. Under Pep, we have dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing… I arrived in Manchester eight years ago full of hope, but I could not have predicted such a beautiful time together.†He added, “Playing for City has been the most special time of my life and I will always be a fan of this special club. I’m going with my wife and children, but I’m leaving a big family here, Cityzens. Once a Blue, always a Blue.â€
