Nigerian gospel singer Chinwe Zoe is drawing attention with her early releases, including her debut single, “Chinwendum”, featuring gospel singer Frank Edwards, and her latest single, “Undeniable”, released on May 7, 2026.

Zoe began recording professionally in December 2025, following years of singing in church and at home. Her decision to pursue music was influenced by a near-death experience that she says changed her outlook on life and faith.

“In that moment, when I thought it was over, God showed me mercy,” she said. “He gave me victory. And that victory was too loud to keep inside.”
She has described songwriting as a process that begins with a message, often drawn from scripture or personal experience, before a melody takes shape. She waits for the message to develop, then hums the melody before putting it into writing.

Zoe says her approach is guided by the need to make gospel music accessible to different audiences, including children and church congregations. Her arrangements place emphasis on the lyrics and lead vocal, with the message at the centre of each song.

“It should be simple enough for a child to sing and strong enough for a choir to carry,” she said.

Her musical influences include CeCe Winans, Nathaniel Bassey and Dunsin Oyekan. She sings in English and Igbo, with occasional use of Pidgin, and draws on themes of faith, worship, gratitude and personal experience.

“Every song I sing comes from a place I have lived,” she said. “My pain taught me how to worship, my joy taught me how to praise.”

Zoe releases music through her own imprint, H2 Records, with distribution handled by ONErpm. Her debut, “Chinwendum”, introduced her to listeners with Frank Edwards featured on the track, while “Undeniable” marks her second single.

Beyond music, Zoe supports outreach activities in Enugu, including efforts to help children return to school, and mentors women. She has described these activities as connected to her faith and the purpose behind her songs.

“I want my songs to shift mindsets from worry to worship,” she said. “Whenever anxiety comes, whenever life tries to make you feel small, I want you to hear my sound in your spirit and declare victory over your life.”

As Nigerian gospel continues to reach audiences through streaming platforms and live performances, Zoe is among the emerging artistes building their catalogues and establishing their place in the genre. Moses Bliss is among the other Nigerian gospel artistes identified in the list of musicians to watch in 2027.
