The visitors had an early chance to stun the home crowd inside two minutes when Mikael Ishak scuffed his effort wide from a Patrik Wålemark delivery with an open net in front of him. Palace capitalized on the let-off in the 10th minute after a defensive error by Terry Yegbe, whose misdirected throw-in was seized by Yéremy Pino, who slotted home his maiden Europa League goal to end a 27-game goal drought.

Palace doubled their lead six minutes later when defender Chris Richards met Adam Wharton’s corner with a header to register his first goal in European competition. The home side added a third in the 34th minute after Pino was brought down inside the penalty box by Radosław Murawski. Jørgen Strand Larsen stepped up and converted the resulting spot-kick into the top corner for his fourth goal in three matches.

The second half featured continued attacking play from both sides, highlighted by the season debut of forward Ismaïla Sarr, who returned from a groin injury as a late substitute alongside Eddie Nketiah. Lech Poznań’s night was compounded in the 87th minute when Murawski received a second yellow card and was sent off. Nketiah sealed the comprehensive 4-0 victory two minutes later with a finish into the bottom corner.
