Former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been summoned by the Kaduna State Police Command for questioning regarding allegations of criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, mischief, and causing grievous hurt. The invitation was extended to El-Rufai and seven other leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.

According to an invitation letter dated September 4, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Uzainu Abdullahi, the ADC Kaduna State Chairman was asked to bring El-Rufai and the other individuals to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8, 2025.

The letter, titled “Investigation Activities: Case of Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance of Public Peace, Mischief, and Causing Grievous Hurt,” stated that the individuals were needed to “clarify allegations reported against them by the complainants.” While the specific details of the complaints were not disclosed in the letter, the police emphasized that the move is part of an ongoing investigation aimed at maintaining public peace and order.

The other individuals named in the letter alongside El-Rufai are Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (also known as 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (also known as Mikiya). The police noted that this action is to ensure the situation is addressed appropriately and to prevent any potential unrest.
