A dramatic second-half rescue act from captain Lautaro Martínez saw defending Serie A champions Inter Milan overturn a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. The thrilling top-of-the-table clash ended the 100% winning records of both sides, though both remain unbeaten at the summit of the league with 13 points each.

Roma asserted their authority early in the match, striking after just six minutes. Paulo Dybala lifted a fine cross toward Nahuel Molina at the far post, who cushioned a header into the six-yard box for Manu Koné to fire home.

Inter attempted to respond through a driving run from Yann Bisseck and a strike onto the outside of the post by Alessandro Bastoni. However, the home side doubled their lead in the 37th minute when Koné pounced inside the six-yard box after Gianluca Mancini’s involvement survived a VAR review for offside.

Cristian Chivu’s Nerazzurri side struck back just 51 seconds after the restart. Marcus Thuram sprinted down the flank and cut the ball back into the penalty area, allowing Martínez to sweep home a low finish past Mile Svilar to halve the deficit.

As the match entered its closing stages, Inter’s relentless pressure yielded the equalizer in the 79th minute. Following a corner, Svilar made a brilliant save to deny a Thuram header, and Martínez hit the crossbar on the rebound. The ball was only partially cleared by Roma’s defense, allowing Martínez to control with his thigh before volleying past Svilar to complete his brace.
