Manchester City orchestrated a remarkable comeback, overturning a 2-0 deficit to defeat Crystal Palace 5-2, ending the Eagles’ impressive eight-match unbeaten away streak.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, still vying for a crucial top-four finish, faced an early setback when Crystal Palace took the lead within 10 minutes. A swift Palace attack culminated in Eberechi Eze tapping home an easy goal.

City nearly responded immediately, but Dean Henderson thwarted Omar Marmoush’s one-on-one attempt. Guardiola also believed that Chris Richards should have been sent off for a foul on Marmoush during that play. City’s frustration deepened when Richards headed home from a corner, doubling Palace’s lead.

Eze appeared to score a third, but the offside flag spared City’s blushes. City capitalized on this reprieve, with Kevin De Bruyne firing a stunning 30-yard free-kick off the post to halve the deficit. Marmoush then equalized, capitalizing on a fortunate bounce inside the box.

City completed their comeback shortly after halftime, with Mateo Kovacic calmly slotting home from the edge of the area. James McAtee, who had squandered earlier opportunities, finally found the net, rounding Henderson and rolling the ball into an empty net. Nico O’Reilly added a fifth goal with a well-taken volley, sealing a comprehensive victory for City.

The win puts significant pressure on Manchester City’s top-four rivals, who are scheduled to play later in the weekend.
