Nigerian football talent Tolu Arokodare made an unforgettable entry for Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring his first goal for the club just 20 minutes into their 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Everton on Tuesday night.

The 23-year-old, who joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk on deadline day, was brought on in the 68th minute to replace Jorgen Strand Larsen. Wolves were already leading 1-0 thanks to a first-half strike from Marshall Munetsi. With Everton pushing for an equalizer, Arokodare sealed the win in the 88th minute, coolly finishing a low shot past the goalkeeper after a brilliant through ball from Joao Gomes.

The goal was met with a thunderous ovation at Molineux, and head coach Vitor Pereira praised the striker’s instant impact. “Tolu has settled in really well since arriving and tonight’s goal will give him confidence,” Pereira stated to the club’s official website. “It’s always good for a striker to get off the mark early.”

Arokodare’s performance went beyond the goal, as his sharp movement and composure demonstrated why Wolves were so keen to secure his services. The debut goal is a strong statement that he is ready to compete for a regular spot in the Premier League squad.

In other Carabao Cup action, another Nigerian star, Samuel Chukwueze, also made his first appearance for Fulham. The winger, who recently joined on loan from AC Milan, came on in the 60th minute for Adama Traore in a 1-0 win against Cambridge United, a victory secured by a decisive strike from Emile Smith-Rowe.
