Nuno Espirito Santo’s tenure at Nottingham Forest has reportedly ended, with multiple sources including The Athletic, Fabrizio Romano, and Record reporting that the Portuguese coach has broken his contract, which was set to run until 2028.

The decision is said to have come from club owner Evangelos Marinakis, following a definitive breakdown in their relationship. An official announcement is expected in the coming hours.

Hired in the 2023/24 season, Nuno quickly made an impact, helping the two-time European champions secure their Premier League status. The following season, he led the team on a surprisingly successful campaign that resulted in qualification for the Europa League.

This season began with a mixed record of one win, one draw, and one defeat in the first three rounds of the Premier League. The team was preparing for their European adventure, which would have seen them face FC Porto and SC Braga, two of Nuno’s former clubs. A former goalkeeper, Nuno Espirito Santo’s coaching career began in 2012 and includes spells at Rio Ave, Valencia, FC Porto, Wolverhampton, Tottenham, and Al-Ittihad.
