Real Madrid Complete Signings of Ivorian Winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig
Real Madrid have officially confirmed the acquisition of Ivorian international winger Yan Diomande from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, outmaneuvering European rivals to secure the rising star on a long-term deal.
The 14-time European champions announced that the 20-year-old forward has signed a seven-year contract at the Santiago Bernabéu, keeping him tied to the club until June 30, 2033.
“Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Yan Diomande, who will be tied to our club for the next seven seasons, until June 30, 2033,” the Spanish club confirmed in an official statement.
While financial details were not officially disclosed in the release, the transfer fee is understood to be in the region of €125 million guaranteed, with an additional €15 million structured in performance-related add-ons.
Diomande’s rapid ascension comes just 12 months after he moved to Leipzig from Spanish side Leganés. His breakout campaign in Germany quickly drew interest across the continent, with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool leading the chase. Although PSG had agreed to preliminary personal terms with the player, Real Madrid intervened to reach a swift agreement with both Leipzig and Diomande to hijack the deal.
The signing of Diomande represents Real Madrid’s sixth major arrival of the summer transfer window following the additions of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, and Carlos Espí.
The heavy recruitment drive comes as part of a broader squad overhaul under manager José Mourinho, who returned for a second spell in charge following the departure of Álvaro Arbeloa. Los Blancos are looking to rebuild after enduring two consecutive seasons without claiming a major trophy.
