Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has explained her decision to reject her inclusion in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The actress made the clarification in a post on X while responding to a social media user who suggested that her decision was made to avoid online bullying or public backlash.
Abraham refuted the claim, stating that her decision had nothing to do with external pressure or criticism. She explained that her name was added to the campaign list without her prior consent or knowledge, prompting her to step back because it was the correct course of action.
“I didn’t do it because of any bully. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about. Moreover, I’ve already said it, I’m not interested in politics.”
Her statement follows public reactions after her name appeared on the official list of members for the Lagos APC campaign council, where she was listed under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Reiterating her earlier stance on partisan involvement, Abraham emphasized that she remains focused on her film career and has no interest in participating in active politics.
