Borno APC Endorses Tinubu for 2027, Calls for Shettima’s Re-election as VP
The Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, urging him to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate. This declaration was made in a communiqu issued after a crucial stakeholders meeting held in Maiduguri on Sunday.
The meeting, attended by key APC figures including Deputy National Chairman (North) Ali Bukar Dalori, Senators Mohammed Monguno, Ali Ndume, and Kaka Lawan, and numerous other state and national officials, reaffirmed the partys total and unalloyed loyalty to the Tinubu-led Federal Government. This show of unity followed recent criticisms from Senator Ali Ndume regarding presidential appointments, which were swiftly rejected by the Presidency.
The communiqu emphasized the stakeholders’ full support for Tinubus Renewed Hope Agenda and lauded Vice President Shettima for his dedication to national development. The meeting prayed for Mr. President to retain His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima as his Vice President for his second term, the statement read, solidifying their backing for Shettima’s continued role.
The Borno APC also commended Governor Babagana Zulum for his efforts in combating insecurity and rebuilding the state, urging him to remain focused on his transformative agenda. The stakeholders reiterated the states unwavering commitment to the APC, stating, Borno shall remain in APCno merger or change of political party, dismissing any rumors of political realignment.
The forum called for unity within the party, urging members to avoid internal divisions and uphold the values that have shaped Bornos political landscape. Additionally, they urged President Tinubu to intensify oil exploration in the North-East, particularly in the Kolmani and Lake Chad regions, and to invest in road infrastructure to boost security and economic growth.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to strengthen internal democracy within the party and enhance its organizational capacity, ensuring the APCs continued dominance at both state and national levels.
