Brentford have officially announced the signing of Senegal international left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham United on a five-year contract, with an option for an additional year on the club’s side.
The 21-year-old makes the move across London for an undisclosed fee, reported to be worth £40 million ($54.35 million) including performance-related add-ons.
Diouf joined West Ham last summer from Slavia Prague and established himself as a key figure in their backline, making 34 appearances and providing five assists across all competitions. Following West Ham’s relegation, Diouf earned international caps with Senegal during the 2026 World Cup and now returns straight to Premier League action with the Bees.
The signing reunites Diouf with striker Callum Wilson, who moved from East London to Brentford earlier in the transfer window. Diouf becomes Brentford’s fifth major signing of the summer window, alongside Wilson, Mamadou Sangaré, Jannik Schuster, and Jaidon Anthony.
Speaking on the signing, Brentford manager Keith Andrews praised the defender’s physical qualities and delivery:
“He’s a player that fits our ideal age profile, with lots of room to still develop. I think he had a really good year at West Ham in his first season in English football, and some of the qualities and attributes he has as a full-back really add to an already impressive part of our team.”
